Vinecia Coleman is a playwright, actor, and director based in Minneapolis/St. Paul, whose artistic aim as a writer is to tell stories that focus on the Black female experience. Her plays have been developed at Boise Contemporary Theatre’s BIPOC Playwright Festival, Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s Black Swan Lab, id Theater’s Seven Devils Playwrights’ Conference, Mad Cow Theater, and others. Her play Christiana Lysistrata had its premiere at Main Street Players in Miami, FL in early 2024. She holds an MFA with an emphasis in Dramatic Writing and Directing from the University of Idaho and a BS in Microbiology from Iowa State University.

As an actor, she has worked at Jungle Theater (Minneapolis, MN), Penumbra Theatre (St Paul, MN), Pillsbury House Theatre (Minneapolis, MN), Oregon Shakespeare Festival (Ashland, OR), Portland Playhouse (Portland, OR), and more.
